The Science Fact of the Week

Welcome to the world of Science! We really are glad you surfed in to visit us. We hope you are enjoying our site. For your education or edification we post a new science fact here each week. Stop by every week to learn something new.

An astronaut weighs less on the moon than he does on the earth, even though his mass stays the same. Mass is determined by the amount of matter that an object contains. Weight is determined by the force of gravity acting on an object's mass. Therefore, the terms mass and weight are not the same.
