Sterling and Stacy's Science Site

Check out our Science Fact of the Week and
Students of the Month

Make sure you learn our
"Science Fact of the Week".

Stacy and I both teach classes at Roanoke High School in Robersonville, North Carolina. Roanoke High School follows the 4x4, semester block, schedule. That means that students attend four, ninety minute classes each day for the first half of the year. Students then take their final exams for their first semester classes before Christmas break. When students return to school in January, they will be enrolled in four different classes. The students will then complete these four classes before going on Summer break.

Roanoke High School was recognized as one of North Carolina's Exemplary Schools for the academic year 1997-1998. For those of you who do not know about North Caolina's Excellent Schools Act, this means that our school surpassed the academic growth expectations set for our school by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. As a consequence, each teacher at Roanoke High School will be given a $1,500 bonus. What a job!

We would also like to congratulate our Principal, Dr. Darlene Mobley, for completing the requirements of a Doctoral Degree in the field of Education. Dr. Mobley is a wonderful educator and administrator. Congratulations!

As for this year, Stacy is currently teaching one section of General Biology, one section of Honors Biology, and one section of Environmental Science. Sterling is teaching two sections of Principles of Technology I and one section of Principles of Technology II.

P.S. We have some very good news for all of our Internet friends. Stacy and I are expecting our first child in February! We will keep you posted on all the developments.

Check Out These Students!

We have established this section to recognize significant achievements by our science students. You will find our distinguished "Students of the Month" from each of our classes posted here. Just click on the links to learn something about the students and what each has accomplished.

Attention teachers and students. We have included some of our favorite science links here. We have found them to be very helpful in teaching our classes, and hope they will benefit you as well. Also, if you would like to suggest a site to add to our collection, just e-mail us with the appropriate information.

We really enjoy showing people how easy learning science can be. We would be more than happy to assist any students or parents who may need an idea for a science project. We would also be glad to offer our assistance to anyone who may need tutoring in one of the subjects we teach. Just contact us via e-mail.

Thanks for stopping by to visit us. Please take a couple of minutes to send us a message. We would love to hear from you.
