Lighthouse Gallery & Gifts
Where a bit of the sea comes home with you...

Lighthouse Gallery and Gifts

Near the Atlantic north of Hatteras and just south of Kitty Hawk, there is a place where it is still 1923. A time when the United States Lighthouse Service had keepers at each lighthouse...

A time when the glass prisms of the ten foot high Fresnel lens were kept polished and the lights turned on by hand each evening by people who passionately cared that the warning flashes sent their message through the night.

The place is Gallery Row in Nags Head, not far from the Carolinian Hotel. Step inside and find the memory of the old Lighthouse Service in books, photographs, lighthouse collectibles and models.

At the Lighthouse Gallery and Gifts there are lifeboat binnacles and miniature lifeboat, foghorns, lanterns, books, lighthouse tours on video, lighthouse musical glass globes with flashing beacons and of course, the irresistible lighthouse miniatures.

For those of you who are lighthouse collectors, we offer Harbour Lights (we are one of the South's largest dealers), Spencer Collin, Spoontiques, and Lefton lighted models.

There are old world pond yachts, clipper ship glass prisms, old ship's compasses, sextants, and nautical instruments, and even Lighthouse Service Clocks that chime. There are also things for kids like puzzles, books about lighthouses and the Outer Banks, and posters.

For the ladies, we have 14 ct. gold lighthouse charms and Nags Head Beach Glass jewelry.

But most of all, at the Lighthouse Gallery, we offer time to chat ... and it's only a short walk down to the beach to sit and watch the waves and admire the beauty of the sea.

Lighthouse Families

Later when you are standing on the edge of the continent, as as it grows dark, pause for a moment and remember the men and women who kept the lights burning and climbed the stairs of the tall beacons through countless nights - the men and women of the old U.S. Lighthouse Service.

We look forward to meeting you!
