The Hatteras Lightkeeper's Homecoming

Welcome to the North Carolina's Outer Banks Internet Initiative

Cape Hatteras Lightkeepers Homecoming
May 4-6, 2001

The Outer Banks Lighthouse Society is
Searching For:
Cape Hatteras Keepers Descendants
Are you a Keeper’s direct *descendant?
*(child, grandchild, great-grandchild, great-great grandchild and spouses)

If you would like to fill out a descendant's form, choose the "Register" button to the left. Although the Hatteras Keepers Descendants Homecoming took place on May 4-6, 2001, The Outer Banks Lighthouse Society would like to continue gathering information about keepers' descendants. If you have memories of your keeper-relative and/or any pictures you would allow to be copies and stored for future research, please let us hear from you.

Some well-known Hatteras Keeper’s family names include:
Farrow Gillikin Casey
Austin Rollinson Quidley
Fulcher O’Neal Williams
Barnett(e) Jennett(e) Simpson

For a complete list of Keeper’s names, see the “Lighthouse Keepers List”

Almost as daunting a task as moving the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse during the summer of 1999 was locating the Keepers’ descendants to invite them to a special weekend May 4, 5, 6, 2001, at the Cape Hatteras Light Station, cosponsored by the Outer Banks Lighthouse Society and the National Park Service.

And we are still searching for descendants, so ... if you believe you are a direct descendant of a Hatteras Keeper, including the Diamond Shoals Lightship of the old Lighthouse Service, please review the “Keepers List” and then complete the “Descendants On-line Questionnaire”.

We want to hear from you!
