The Wrights move to Dayton, Ohio
1871
On August 19 in Dayton Orville is born
1878
They move again to Cedar Rapids in Iowa. This is where they get the toy helicoptor that got them interested in flying
1884
They go back to Dayton, Ohio
1886
Wilbur is kept from his college plans by a skating accident. He was hit with a bat.
1889
This year Orville quits school, their mother dies in July, and the Wright Kids start a printing business
1892
They start the Wright Cycle Company
1896
Wilbur reads about a glider pilot and gets more interested in flying. Orville gets typhiod
1899
Wilbur inquires info about aeronautics on May 30
1900
They go to test there first gliders at Kitty Hawk, NC in September and October
1901
They build a wind tunnel and test many wing designs. They also test their improved glider
1903
Orville makes the first flight on December 17 at Kitty Hawk
1904
After the Four famous flights they resume their testing at Huffman Prairie in Dayton,
Ohio
1905
The look for buyers this year for their perfected airplane
1908
Wilbur demonstartes their invention over seas, and Orville gets badly injured in a crash when he was flying for the U.S. Army at Fort Myer
1909
They both receive a Congressonal Gold Medal at a two day Gala in Dayton
1912
Wilbur dies of typhoid at age 45 on May 30
1932
A national monument erected at Kitty Hawk was dedicated to the Wright Brothers on March3rd
1948
Orville dies at age 77 on January 30
