By our own definition, “colonial botanicals” includes many varieties of wildflowers, herbs, and native plants, as well as “exotics” that were introduced to the Colonies by native Americans, explorers, settlers and travelers.

Flowers and herbs were used throughout early American homes. They were often used to freshen the air, mask personal odors, and repel pests such as ants, mosquitoes, fleas, moths, and mice. For example, the fragrant stems, leaves and flowers of strewing herbs were scattered loose around the home and were frequently found on floors, under rugs, in storage containers, and among linens and clothes.

Colonial Botanicals is pleased to offer high quality, distinctive gifts crafted from naturally grown botanicals that were prevalent during early American history.

Want to tell us about your favorite flower? Wondering what we feed our chickens? Have an idea for a new product? Feel free to contact us with your comments, questions, and suggestions. We’d especially like to know if we have not met your expectations. Please let us know what we can do better. On the other hand, if you like what we’re doing here, by all means, tell a friend!
