Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society Membership Subscriptions and Donations
The Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society is a Public / Private Partnership established to further the appreciation, understanding and support of refuges administered through Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.
The Society operates under a Memorandum of Agreement with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and is one of many non-profit Refuge Friends groups around the country formed to provide private support for local national wildlife refuges.
Currently, the Society is sponsoring a major fund raising effort to design and construct a Visitor Center on Roanoke Island. This faciltiy will include major educational and intrepretive facilities and feature a live Red Wolf exhibit.
Membership
Society members receive the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge quarterly newsletter, "Wings" and a Society decal. The newsletter provides current information concerning refuge, volunteer and Society programs and activities. Some members of the Society may wish to become refuge volunteers; however, volunteerism is not a requirement for membership.
Donations
Donations to the Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society are fully tax deductible. Contributors may rest assured that 100% of donated funds are used for refuge projects. Also, the Society accepts donations designated for any of the eastern North Carolina refuges or specific projects on these refuges. Unless designated, all contributions and membership fees are used on high priority projects mutually agreed upon by the Society and the Refuge Manager.

The Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society has been designated a 501 (c)(3) organization by the United States Internal Revenue Service. Its Tax ID Number is 56-1649348.
