  • Workboats and Watermen in the Civil War, Roanoke Island Festival Park
    One Festival Park, Manteo, NC 27954 Phone: 252-475-1500 In recognition of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Roanoke Island, an exhibit will feature flat bottom boats that were used during the battle. Event URL: http://www.roanokeisland.com/
  • 10th Annual Outer Banks Bike Week, Area Wide
    Packed full with entertainment, great food, events and special attractions. Bike Shows, Poker Runs, Guided Tours, Party Nights, Tattoo and Bikini Contests, Over 100 Vendors, Live Music, Outdoor Concerts, Pig Pickin & more! Event URL: http://www.outerbanksbikeweek.com
  • Flags Over Hatteras, Hatteras Civic Center
    Come to a fun filled week at the beach and hear three nationally known Civil War authors: James McPherson, Ed Bearss and Craig Symonds. Each evening one of them will give their talk following dinner (included in registration fee) at the Hatteras Village Civic Association Building in Hatteras. Attendance is limited. Living History programs are scheduled to be held at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse grounds April 28 - April 29 (half day). These programs will feature re-enactors of the regiments involved in the action at Hatteras Inlet in August of 1861. These re-enactors will present artillery demonstrations, encampments, drills and period music. In addition, a Civil War era Ladies Fashion show will be presented as well as a Civil War era Battery forge. These programs are free of charge and are open to the public. A schedule of programs will be provided.
